About Clipiao
Clipiao is a free screen recorder that turns a selected area of your screen into a shareable link that plays right inside Discord.
Key facts
- Record part of your screen: press Ctrl + Shift + 5 (or your own shortcut), drag a box, and recording starts when you let go. Press the check when you're done.
- Screenshots: press Ctrl + Shift + 4, drag a box, and the link is copied right away.
- The link is copied as soon as the clip is uploaded. In Discord it plays right in the chat; WhatsApp, Slack, Telegram and X show a preview.
- Records the sound your computer plays and your microphone, and can show a round webcam bubble.
- Free plan: clips up to 1 minute at 60 FPS, online for 30 days. Premium: clips up to 10 minutes that never expire, high quality recording, clip titles and view counts. The first 25 accounts got Premium for life.
- Recordings are never kept on your computer: they go straight to your link.
- Privacy: links are long and random, aren't listed anywhere and aren't stored in readable form; no IP addresses are kept; deleting a clip removes it everywhere.
- No watermark. Updates install themselves quietly.
- Sign in with Discord, Google or email. An account can use the app on 2 computers at a time.
- Runs on Windows 10 (2004 or newer) and Windows 11.

How the link works
The app uploads the clip as soon as you finish and copies its link. Anyone with the link can watch it in the browser; in Discord the video plays right in the chat. Links aren't listed anywhere, and you can delete a clip from your Library at any time.
